ZAMBOANGA CITY — Farmers, rubber tappers, vendors and small transport drivers from various municipalities in Zamboanga Sibugay will benefit from the emergency employment or TUPAD program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 9.
The TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating

Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers Program (TUPAD) is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.

Regional Director Atty. Roy L. Buenafe and District 1 Congressman Wilter “Sharky”W. Palma personally turned-over the check amounting to 25 million pesos to Alicia Neighborhood Multipurpose Cooperative (ALNEMPCO) on April 22, 2021 at the Namnama Covered Court, Brgy. Namnama, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay Province.

“The said amount is released to ALNEMPCO for the implementation of the TUPAD program which will benefit a total of 4,615 informal sector workers,”RD Buenafe said.

Ät the same time, the cooperative will be our partner in implementing the program to include monitoring and submission of reportorial requirements.”

Each beneficiary will receive a daily compensation of Php. 316.00 over a 15 -day period, micro – insurance personal protective gears to do disinfection and sanitation activities in their communities to mitigate the local transmission of COVID -19 and more importantly to provide them with additional income for their families.
