ZAMBOANGA CITY – Some 425 Grade 10, 11 and 12 students from Parasan National High School and Sacred Heart Diocesan School Inc. in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur underwent career guidance and employment coaching on October 19-20, 2022.

The learning session was courtesy of DOLE Zamboanga del Sur Field Office (ZDSFO) in partnership with LGU Molave Public Employment Service Office and the Zamboanga del Sur Career Guidance Association.

DOLE ZDSFO thru Engr. Yusep Abduhasad, Labor and Employment Education Services (LEES) Focal, presented the Labor Market Information such as the Key Employment Generators, High Paying, In Demand, Emerging, TechVoc and Freelance Jobs in the country. He also shared about the Project JobsFit, an initiative of the Department to address job-skills mismatch through timely and accurate Labor Market Information.

Engr. Abduhasad encouraged the students to visit and utilize the PhilJobNet Portal, a jobsite developed by the Department for jobseekers and employers.

Dr. Mary Jane B. Omandam, President of Zamboanga del Sur Career Guidance Association, also shared her expertise on Career Guidance and Employment Coaching to the students.

Mr. Diosdado Lactuan, PESO Manager of LGU Molave expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the participants, the speakers and school management for their support that led to the success of the activity.

Career Guidance Advocacy Program (CGAP) is one of the flagship programs being implemented by the Department as employment facilitation inter mediation services for the youth to provide them relevant information that could guide them in making informed career choices.
