ZAMBOANGA CITY – At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, beneficiaries of the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) thank the Department of Labor and Employment Region 9 (DOLE 9) after receiving a cash assistance of five thousand pesos (P 5,000.00).
In a text message sent to DOLE 9, Cheenee S. Besanez, one of the beneficiaries, said that the financial support is a big help for her family.
“The 5k assistance will go a long way for my family especially that I have a child who is 4 months old,” she said.
Joepeter S. Flores said, “Maraming maraming Salamat talaga! It’s not kahit papaano nakatulong kundi talagang malaking tulong po ang 5,000 ninyong ipinamahagi. More power to your office. (Thank you very much! This is not just a small thing but the 5,000 pesos is really a huge help.)”
Meanwhile, Vincent Pilar Bautista commended DOLE 9 saying:
“Thank you so much for helping me and my family in this time of crisis. Truly we are grateful that you never leave anyone behind especially those who are in the no work, no pay situation.”
Other beneficiaries also shared their experience in conveniently claiming their financial support through the financial intermediary M Lhuillier.
Ivy Apolinaria said, “I am happy to have received your message to claim the financial assistance. It was fast and easy because we didn’t have to go to your office to do it.”
As of May 7, 2020, DOLE 9 disbursed a total amount of PHP 65,940,000.00 to 13,188 beneficiaries from 758 establishments across Zamboanga Peninsula Region.
The beneficiaries receive their cash assistance by claiming it from any M Lhuillier branch using unique Kwarta Padala Tracking Numbers sent to them by DOLE through their registered mobile numbers. This process makes it convenient for beneficiaries to claim cash on their own time and would not have to go to DOLE offices since transportation is limited and quarantine measures are in place.
CAMP is a safety net program that offers financial support to affected workers of private establishments that have adopted flexible work arrangements or temporary closure due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
