ZAMBOANGA CITY – Clients of the Department of Labor and Employment IX (DOLE 9) in the 3rd Congressional District of Zamboanga del Norte need not travel to Ipil or Dipolog City to lodge complaints or avail programs and services following the establishment of its new satellite office in Liloy’s Municipal Hall, today.

Regional Director Roy L. Buenafe shared that the new satellite office aims to bring DOLE’s mission and mandate closer to the people considering the distance of the area to the DOLE Zamboanga del Norte Field Office (ZDNFO).

The DOLE Liloy Satellite Office will cater to clients from the municipalities of Baliguian, Godod, Gutalac, Kalawit, Labason, Leon B. Postigo Liloy, Salug, Sibuco, Siocon, Sirawai and Tampilisan with a population of more than 372,000 per 2015 census.

“We are not blind to the needs of our clients in these far municipalities and the difficulties they face when traveling to the closest DOLE Office. It will be easier for us to identify beneficiaries for our programs especially for livelihood and emergency employment because we now have personnel on the ground to cater to them,” Director Buenafe added.

Director Buanafe expressed his thanks to Mayor Roberto L. Uy, Jr. of Liloy and the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) for providing ample office space in the Municipal Hall and for supporting the programs and services of DOLE.

The DOLE Liloy Satellite Office team is headed by Senior Labor and Employment Officer Atty. Butch Jason C. Tormis with staff Mary Pearl Guirgio and Florence Louie Eroy under the supervision of ZDNFO Chief Lourdes B. Amores.

Located at the Second Floor of the Municipal Hall, Baybay, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte, the Satellite Office is ready to serve clients from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. END/DOLE9
