ZAMBOANGA CITY, April 29, 2022 – Around 3,401 jobs are open to job seekers in the upcoming Labor Day 2022 Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Jobs and Business Fairs on May 1, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the activity center of KCC Mall de Zamboanga, Governor Camins, Zamboanga City.

This, after the Labor Office posted its list of vacancies in their official Facebook page – DOLE Region 9. A total of 25 employers, of which 4 are overseas and 21 are local, will participate in the job fair.

Atty. Roy L. Buenafe said that the job fair aims to match unemployed citizens with employment opportunities that are suitable to their qualifications.

“We released the list of vacancies in advance so that applicants may now have an idea of what to apply for and prepare themselves accordingly. It is also a blended activity wherein job seekers are advised to register online through the website: www.dole9.org/virtualjobfair.

We are also expecting more vacancies from overseas employers within the week. Rest assured, these will be posted on our website and FB page,” Atty. Buenafe added.

After registering and applying online, applicants must present a valid ID and their cellphone number in the Registration Area on the day of the job fair. Once verified, they will be admitted to the job fair area for the interview.

Drop boxes will also be available for those who opt to submit hard copies of application documents.

“Applicants are strongly advised to observe minimum health protocols by wearing face masks, observing social distance and bringing hand sanitizers,” Atty. Buenafe shared.

The Labor Day fair will also feature a One-Stop-Shop of services to cater to clients’ inquiries and requests for assistance. This will include the following agencies: Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig Fund, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Postal Corporation, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Trade and Industry, Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC), National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) and Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB).

TESDA will offer training scholarships, free services for workers and skills demonstrations for those who are interested to learn. Meanwhile, talented workers from the private sector will get the chance to showcase their performance in the Talentadong Obrero Competition and win cash prizes.

This year’s Labor Day is anchored on the theme “Matatag na Mangagawa, Matatag na Bansa”.
