ZAMBOANGA CITY— As the 83rd Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga draws near, the Department of Labor and Employment thru its Zamboanga City Field Office and the Public Employment Service Office of LGU-Zamboanga City gear up for a Job Fair at the KCC Mall de Zamboanga, Governor Camins, this city from February 27-28, 2020 starting 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Dia De Zamboanga is an annual observance that celebrates the city’s charter anniversary marked by the installation of the first set of appointed city officials led by Mayor Nicasio Valderosa on February 26, 1937.
Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo advised jobseekers to participate in the job fair for more opportunities of being hired since a total of 50 employers will be offering 11,320 job vacancies both for local and overseas work.
Out of the total job vacancies, 3,320 are for local employment while 8,000 are under overseas employment. Topping the list for available occupations are nurses, medical staff, engineers, teachers, production operators, call center agents, service crew, sales staff, office staff, all positions for construction work among others.
Director Domingo strongly advises jobseekers to prepare the following application documents: resume or curriculum vitae in multiple copies, 2×2 ID pictures, certificates of employment for those who were previously employed, diploma and/or transcript of records and an authenticated birth certificate.
Moreover, applicants are advised to wear appropriate attire for the interview to appear presentable to employers.
A one-stop-shop of services comprising of SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig, POEA and DOLE will also be in place to cater to the needs of clients on the same day.
TESDA will also offer services such as manicure, pedicure, haircut and massage. END
