PAGADIAN CITY, ZDS – The DOLE Zamboanga del Sur Field Office (DOLE-ZSDFO) facilitated the turnover of Php 599,370.00 to Lindongan Farmers Beneficiaries Multi-Purpose Cooperative (LIFABEMCO), a DOLE-accredited co-partner to support the implementation of TUPAD, also known as Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, benefiting 138 individuals in Zamboanga del Sur.

The turnover ceremony took place on July 8, 2023, at the DOLE-ZDSFO, Pagadian City. DOLE 9 Regional Director Albert E. Gutib presented the check to LIFABEMCO General Manager Renita C. Daway. The event was witnessed by DOLE Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Head Miraflor J. Casanes, along with other staff members from both DOLE and LIFABEMCO.

In his message, RD Gutib shared “Manghatag ta ug dekalidad ug sustainable na panginabuhian sa atong mga kaigsoonan arong makakita sila ug income”. RD Gutib emphasized the importance of providing high-quality and sustainable livelihood opportunities to community members, enabling them to earn a stable income. He also expressed DOLE’s commitment to addressing unemployment and underemployment through the provision of sustainable livelihood projects.

TUPAD is a community-based assistance program that offers emergency employment to displaced workers, underemployed individuals, and seasonal workers. The duration of employment ranges from a minimum of 10 days to a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of the assigned work.
