The Department of Labor and Employment IX (DOLE 9) Government Internship Program (GIP) finally kicks off in the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay.

A total of three hundred (300) fresh graduates will be deployed to various national and local government agencies from October to December 2019 under the said program.

Ofelia B. Domingo, DOLE 9 Regional Director, shared that the GIP aims to give the interns the opportunity to demonstrate their talents and skills in the field of public service. It also seeks to attract the best and the brightest who want to pursue a career in government service, particularly in the fields and disciplines related to labor and employment while gaining valuable experience.

For this batch of interns, DOLE 9 allocated a total budget of Php 6 million representing salary which is 75% of the existing minimum wage of the region where the beneficiary will be employed.

DOLE Sibugay, headed by Chief Labor and Employment Officer Imelda F. Gatinao, facilitated an orientation and contract signing for interns on October 1, 2019 at the Kitabog Covered Court, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The orientation focused on the program, its legal basis, purpose and objective, decorum in the workplace and submission of monthly reports.
