ZAMBOANGA CITY — Beneficiaries of DOLE 9’s Project HOPE (Helping Others Prosper Economically) displayed various fast crops and products during the Kadiwa on Wheels (Mobile Market) Project for the month of May in Zamboanga City.The “Kadiwa on Wheels” is a joint initiative of Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry and Local Government Unit of Zamboanga City through the Office of the City Agriculturist aimed to give local government units (LGUs) and individual consumers direct access to agriculture products from the province during the coronavirus-triggered lockdown. The market opens every Tuesdays and Fridays in different barangays.

The Project HOPE Booth offered Chilicious Products such as the Chili Garlic Crunch and Vinagre Special (Sukang Pinakurat) as well as various fast crops from the Project HOPE Demo Farm such as Luchay (Chinese Pechay), Tanglad, Kangkong, Malunggay and Sili Labuyo – all at a very affordable price.

Beneficiaries Rosanna Recana, Nelson Torribio, Zanelfa Bustillo and Ms. Emma Lim Project HOPE Project Development Officer served as booth attendants while observing proper safety protocols.

During the five-day display, the beneficiaries earned a total of 24,000 pesos in sales.

Project HOPE is a holistic intervention for the fishing and canning industry workers and their dependents displaced during the annual closed fishing season which includes emergency employment, training, retooling and livelihood. It focuses on eco-livelihood farming as an enrolled project under the Trabaho Negosyo Kabuhayan framework and will provide beneficiaries an alternative source of income through agricultural farming.
