ZAMBOANGA CITY, Sep 24 – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 9 through its Zamboanga del Norte Field Office (ZDNFO) announced that it awarded a Safety Seal Certificate to Zamboanga del Norte Electric Cooperative which signifies the establishment’s compliance with the minimum public health standards (MPHS) set by the government.

DOLE 9 Regional Director Atty. Roy L. Buenafe said that ZANECO was the first to be given the safety seal certificate in Zamboanga del Norte province after DOLE Labor Inspectors visited their premises and checked compliance.

“The issuance of the certificate to establishments benefits both the establishment and clients. Clients are assured that the ZANECO strictly observes the MPHS while the establishment benefits from the increased customer confidence,” Director Buenafe added.

The Safety Seal Certification is a voluntary certification scheme meaning these companies applied to get the certification. In addition to being compliant to the minimum health protocols, these companies use or integrate its contact tracing with the mobile app StaySafe.ph.

The StaySafe App is an online application that is an effective tool for contact tracing nationwide to ensure consistent, and unified contact tracing reporting.

The DOLE issues the Safety Seal for the manufacturing, construction sites, utilities (electric, water, gas, air conditioning supply, sewerage, waste management) information and communication companies (private publication, news, movie production, TV and radio companies), and warehouses.

ZDNFO Chief Lourdes B. Amores together with Inspectors Engr. Ferdinand L. Daracan and Engr. Rashneev A. Ynawat facilitated the awarding of the certificate to ZANECO’s representatives – General Manager Marivic B. Elumbaring and HRDD Supervisor Ian Roger L. Candelanza at the ZANECO Board Room on August 26, 2021.

“The ZANECO management, staff and employees are grateful to DOLE for recognizing our efforts in fighting COVID-19. We are committed to continuously abide by the rules, recommendations and orders set by the government thru DOLE, DOH and other agencies especially on the health and safety protocols. Rest assured we are one with the government in fighting the pandemic,” Ms. Elumbaring said.
