DIPOLOG CITY – Sixty-eight (68) job seekers were hired-on-the-spot (HOTS) during the Job Fair held at the Boulevard Function Hall in Dipolog City on April 14, 2023.

These newly hired employees will be starting their new jobs in the wholesale/retail and banking and finance industry within the City after passing the one-day hiring process.

A total of 20 private local and overseas employers participated in the job fair offering 1,869 vacancies. Of these, 19 local companies provided 1,669 jobs, while 1 company offered 200 jobs abroad.

In total, 276 job applicants, who either pre-registered or registered on the day itself, attended the event. Additionally, 48 near-hires were considered for employment, but need to submit additional or lacking requirements, or may need to attend further interviews or tests.

The job fair was made possible through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Local Government Unit of Dipolog City headed by Mayor Darel Dexter Uy, in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 9 Zamboanga del Norte Field Office and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) 9.

Mayor Uy assured constituents that there will be more job opportunities in Dipolog City as investors start to come in. He said that these include construction projects for housing developments and other big businesses that will help in generating employment for Dipolognons. END
