ZAMBOANGA CITY—As Independence Day draws near, the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office IX (DOLE 9) gears up for another Job Fair at the KCC Mall de Zamboanga, Governor Camins, this city on June 12, 2019 from 9am to 5pm.

This year’s celebration of Independence Day is anchored on the theme “Tapang ng Bayan, Malasakit sa Mamamayan.”

Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo advised jobseekers to participate in the job fair for more opportunities of being hired since a total of 22 employers will be offering 18,775 job vacancies both for local and overseas work.

Out of the total job vacancies, 18,401 are under overseas employment while 374 are for local employment. Topping the list for local occupations are staff nurses, service crew, management trainees and sales executives. For overseas, various skills are needed in the medical field and hospitality industry.

Meanwhile, job seekers may also check DOLE 9’s Facebook Page – DOLE Zampen Region – where a list of participating employers and available jobs are posted.

Applicants who already registered during the Labor Day Job Fair held last May 1, 2019 at KCC Mall need not undergo the registration process. However, they are still strongly advised to prepare the following application documents: resume or curriculum vitae in multiple copies, 2×2 ID pictures, certificates of employment for those who were previously employed, diploma and/or transcript of records and an authenticated birth certificate.

Moreover, applicants are advised to wear appropriate attire for the interview to appear presentable to employers.

DOLE 9 will also put up a one-stop-shop of services to cater to the needs of clients on the same day. DOLE’s family of agencies, SSS, Pag-Ibig and Philhealth are among the agencies to put up help desks. END/kcg
