ZAMBOANGA CITY– A scholar of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Office IX recently passed the 2018 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) held last September 2018.

Reina Rae T. Garcia is one of the 60,803 secondary teachers who successfully hurdled the subject exam out of the 126,582 examinees.

Ms. Garcia is a scholar under the OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) who graduated from Jose Rizal Memorial State University-Tampilisan Campus, Tampilisan, Zamboanga del Norte last March 23, 2018.

“I thank OWWA for the scholarship. Because of them I was able to finish college and finally be able to fulfill my dreams,” said Garcia, who also credited her success to her parents’ support.

ODSP is an educational assistance to qualified dependents of active OWWA-member OFWs who intend to pursue any 4 or 5-year baccalaureate degree or associate degree in state college or university. The scholarship shall be in the form of financial assistance of Twenty Thousand Pesos (P 20,000.00) per school year.
