ZAMBOANGA CITY – Some 294 Grade 12 Students of Holy Child Academy attended the discussion on labor market information and basic labor rights conducted by DOLE Zamboanga del Sur Field Office last February 06, 2023 at the 4th floor of HCA New Building, San Jose, Pagadian City, ZDS.
DOLE 9 Regional Director Atty. Roy L. Buenafe said that the activity is part of the series of activities of Holy Child Academy for their graduating students through the HCA Career Guidance 2023 with the theme “Gearing up towards the VUCA World”.
“We are intensifying our campaign on career guidance and employment coaching to ensure that students are well-informed on career choices once they graduate. Through our partners all across various schools and universities, we are able to reach more students each year,” Atty. Buenafe added.
Engr. Yusep Abduhasad, Labor and Employment Education Services (LEES) Focal, presented labor market information such as Key Employment Generators, High Paying, In Demand, Emerging, TechVoc and Freelance Jobs in the country.
The basics of General Labor Standards were also discussed to the students to guide and inform them of their basic rights and entitlements when they enter the world of work.
Students were also encouraged to visit and utilize the PhilJobNet Portal, a jobsite developed for jobseekers and employers.
Attending the seminar are the Senior High School Teachers of Holy Child Academy, together with their School Principal Mrs. Epifania L. Duhaylungsod.
