ZAMBOANGA CITY : The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office IX (DOLE9) thru its Zamboanga City Field Office (ZCFO) has successfully conducted the Zamboanga Peninsula Trabaho Negosyo Kabuhayan (ZAMPEN TNK) Job Fair last October 6, 2017 at the Marcian Garden Convention Center.

The job fair commenced after the simultaneous opening of the ZAMPEN TNK activities spearheaded by DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez and DOLE Undersecretary Joel B. Maglunsod together with DTI Usec Rowel Barba, DTI Assec. Demphna Du-Naga, President of the Small Businesses Corporation Maria Luna Cacanando, Zamboanga City Mayor Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, DOLE 9 Regional Director Ofelia Domingo and DTI 9 Regional Director Sitti Amina Jain.

There were 39 employers who offered a total of 27,504 job vacancies, of which, 3,498 were local and 24,006 were overseas jobs. Jobs from Key Employment Generating Sectors (KEGS) like manufacturing, food processing, construction, tourism, government service, retail and trade were available for job seekers.

Ofelia B. Domingo, Regional Director of DOLE 9, said that the job fair was held as part of the highlights of the TNK Fair and has registered 33% or 326 jobseekers hire-on-the-spot (HOTS) out of the 916 registered applicants. She added that the result of the job fair was outstanding considering that it was conducted for a half-day.

The job fair is part of the five-day TNK fair, a joint project of DOLE and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), which ran from October 6 to 10, 2017 at the Garden Orchid Hotel and MArcian Garden Hotel, Zamboanga City.
